Basic Marketing may be to blame for fewer low-income students at top Universities

Some people say the reason low-income students attend the University which is closest to them is that they want to live at home. Marketing as a recruiter to potential students can be a big challenge for universities and companies in the tech world we live in today. We went out and asked potential students what factors do they consider when choosing their potential university or employer and this is what we found…

54% said that distance from home was not a concern for them. They would go to the best university or company available to them even if that was not near home.

43% said that they did not understand the net costs of very selective universities or cities such as Cambridge and Oxford. One of the people we asked said ‘they thought they were beyond their reach’
